When you have the likes of Buddy Holly & The Beatles as your spirit animal, you know that a wedding peppered with mod indie rock style is simply the only way to go!  Amy Mallalieu & Samuel Monday let their inner 60’s and 70’s music Gods fly in their wonderfully cool UK wedding photographed by English wedding photographer Charlene Morton Photography.  Mod bouffant hair, low slung bows of hair, leopard print bridesmaid dresses and matching bow ties flowed through the day, while details like vintage records served as table numbers.  With such a boisterous tone to the day, the couple cleverly opted for a crisp clean palette of whites, greens & touches of brown to hold all the awesome together!  Armed with a Beatles cover band & a rainbow wedding cake in the shape of a record player {of course!} Amy & Samuel pulled their indie rock wedding full circle, naturally jamming through the night in this glorious 60s rock wedding!

Novella of the Bride…

We have known each other for years as we’ve both grown up in the same small village but a chance meeting at the right time led to a first date. The proposal was in Prague and was done on Amy’s 30th birthday. Sam proposed at 12 midnight so it would fall on her birthday and used a ring that she had been given by her late nan.

The overall theme was a retro style with a mixture of 60’s and 70’s music. We wanted to create a laid back fun and quirky feel to the day but keeping it classy and pretty in the meantime.  We chose the location as it was close to where we live and meant it was easy and practical for all the guests at the wedding. It is a lovely setting with great surrounding views and gardens.

A Little Help From Their Friends ~ We had a lot of help with the planning. Sam’s mum did all the alterations to bridesmaids dresses , handmade the page boys outfits to match and the dickie bows as well as the accessories for all the men (and the dog who made a brief cameo appearance at the church) Our friend Jon made the record player style cake with the multi-coloured centre.  Sam’s graphic designer Joe Shinton, did the wedding stationary, table plan, invites etc and also the flowers.  Sam’s sister Hayley and Gemma made the favours for the tables which were ice cream cone cakes with a good old fashioned flake.  Amy’s best friend Katie did the makeup and Sam’s auntie did her hair as she is a hairdresser.

Favorite Moments ~ We don’t have a favourite moment as it did all seem to contribute to making the perfect day, but Amy says it was walking down the isle is what stands out most for her and one of Sam’s highlights was the family friend who doubled up as a chauffeur for the day.  When we pulled up he popped open the champagne on a silver platter.  We soon spotted his top half was a chauffeur attire but was sporting Bermuda board shorts which was a great laugh for all of us.

Parting Words ~ We found a few things that worked really well such as wedpics app for the phones, it meant we got to see far more pics than we would and also you get to see how other people experienced the day which is really nice.  The most important thing for us was that everyone enjoyed their day and we really hope we achieved this, I know the kids at the wedding seemed to have a great time with the circus games we provided as entertainment
