  2. Modern Elegant Upper East Side Manhattan Wedding At The Harold Pratt House With 1920s Influences

When I visualize a Manhattan wedding, there are only a few small variations that come to mind. My default dream Manhattan wedding is sleek, modern, upscale, elegant, classic with a bit of art deco nod. Ashley Rupeka & Patrick Mokros's wedding is a beautiful package of exactly that. Even more special is that fact that Ashley & Patrick are two very good friends of mine, and yes I had to good fortune to attend this gorgeous affair. Small bit of back story first... I have known Patrick {& his lovely sister Molly} since 2001, watching the both of them blossom into this life. It goes without saying, having known someone for such a period of time, I have seen Patrick in & out of a few relationships over this time period, none that I was particularly a fan of. I note this only because of a fun fact {dont worry not trying to get Patrick in any hot water!} In 2009 a mutual good friend of ours got married. As his guest for this wedding, Patrick brought along and I quote 'A good friend from home' I can't exactly explain why, but I thought to myself, yeah ah ha..... As I came to find out, Ashley & Patrick were actually high school sweethearts & as I watched them interact that night, I knew something was very different. I liked Ashley right off the bat and really liked the way that Patrick just seemed to 'hum' around her. He didn't know it yet, but I did. I actually told him so that night. "You're going to marry this girl some day" I told him. He smiled at me in his cheshire way, explaining to me that it was strictly platonic & that he just needed a date for the wedding. Riiiiiiight :)

  3. Ruffles, Locks, & Gears- The Softer Side of A Steampunk Inspired Wedding

Steampunk, by definition {I'll sum it up as the real definition is lengthy} is essentially a sub-genre of science fiction typically featuring steam powered machinery mostly associated with a post apocalyptic environment. For whatever reason, the fashion of this sub-genre has taken heavy inspiration from 19th century's British Victorian era or American "Wild West". I for one, find anything even slightly Steampunk flavored total eye candy. The fashion, derived from a time I would have loved to have been a live in, the colors, the throw backs to old watches & the magic of their guts that makes them tick. Steampunk is a great source of inspiration for weddings, one that opens a door to a lot of fun that can be head both in wedding fashion as well as decor elements & everything in between. I do feel however, this is not a theme for every couple, it takes the right couple & the right effect to create your Steampunk inspired world to truly achieve that greatness that it can be! Today's feature is a Steampunk inspired styled shoot by a whole slew of amazing vendors, spear headed by BG Productions. When pulling together their own inspiration to guide the direction of their shoot, they stumbled upon a man with dreads which they fell in love with. As it turns out, BG Productions is a team in which one, Al, has dreads! For this shoot, Al stepped out from behind the camera to embody his Steampunk persona and I for one am grateful! The shoot is lovely and showcases a softer side of Steampunk, playing on strong colors & gorgeous watch bits. Might I also add, one freaking amazing cake!!

  4. Perfect, Pretty, Plum Inspiration- Purple Hued Contemporary Wedding Inspiration

Purple is a pretty amazing color & I would lie if I didnt fess up to that fact that this time of year, it does remind me a bit of Halloween! While today's lovely inspiration shoots samples nothing from the holiday, there are still elements of playful textures, pops of perfect hues that give your mind whimsical candy treats! Reese, of Reese Moore Weddings, did such a lovely job explaining the design thought process behind the shoot, I would be remiss to try & rephrase her!
