Film photography, in the right hands, is something that can evoke the most intense emotions while leaving you weak in the knees. When wedding photographer Sarah Nichole Photography sent me this Oregon Coast Engagement session, a piece of the Katie Nicolle Photography workshop, I was immediately smitten. For me, this hits on so many levels. Photographically speaking, there is a gorgeous art in Sarah's choices, playfully dipping between shallow and deeper depths of field. The magic of film bokeh is something that, to me, digital cant quit touch... its just different and wildly enchanting when executed in such a dreamy way. Locale wise, I adore it. Long having had a fascination with the Pacific Northwest, I can see why there is such an attraction to an Oregon Coast engagement session, or any photography session for that matter! Jutting in and out of the rich dark volcanic rock, walking the length of the coastline, all while vibrant lush green pines stand watch in the background. They say locale is everything, I'd say its locale plus some pretty amazing film photography that really brings it home.
With fall in its twilight hour, stepping into an oasis like the Volunteer Park Conservatory for a unique greenhouse engagement session is the perfect play! The beauty to locales such as these is how special and different each room can be as you travel through. From desertscapes filled with cactus to lush tropical getaways, botanical gardens are a true treat. Kelsey & Josh took full advantage of such a place, allowing their greenhouse engagement to steam in all the right ways! Wedding photographer Solie Designs was on hand to capture each moment, whether it was indoors or strolling through the sprawling grounds outside. To cap it all off the couple brought their incredibly adorable puppy, which of course, we simply had to share!
Las Vegas natives Gina & Carlos knew that they wanted to embrace their iconic city in all its bright life glory when it came time for their engagement session. Enlisting the help of Las Vegas wedding photographer KMH Photography, the couple headed to one of the more unique, but possibly lesser known Las Vegas attractions, the Neon Museum. Featuring a collection of yesteryear neon signs that have each been a part of what makes Vegas great, the couple dialed up their personal style to make for a delicious treat in their Neon Museum engagement session! Gina literally stole the show with her gorgeous bridal engagement style which featured a throw back glam beehive meets french twist do from Tammy Mead paired with the most perfect body hugging low back lace dress in white from Debbie Carroll Design. Between the unique locale and the fashion, all that was left was for Carlos and Gina to canoodle, giggle and simply be, making for a relaxed yet wonderfully cool Neon Museum engagement session, Vegas style!

There is something about deserts that I find endlessly enchanting. More to the point, I believe it is the desert's naturally organic blank slate that continuously serves to inspire. A wash in pale hues of soft beige, wisps of pink, dashes of green set below a bold blue sky, its no wonder that deserts frequently serve as the backdrop for styled shoots. Today's whimsical watercolor inspired Las Vegas desert engagement session from local Las Vegas wedding photographer Lissables Photography is a mind meld creation with event stylist Kali of Love Laugh Explore. Hoping to capitalize on the pale pink hues of the desert in golden hour, the duo crafted a dreamy oasis that played on watercolor inspired hues. Additionally the desert engagement featured detail points like yarn hoops that danced in the wind, water marbled gold bottles, an over-sized pink balloon with ribbon streamers and a generous floral crown. While each piece of decor serves up an alluring desert oasis appeal, it is the choice to work with details that either floated in the wind or bounce light around that truly captured the desert spirit! With just the right touch of styling, this desert engagement session went from something simple and lovely, to inspiring and otherworldly!
