As we shift away from the summer months, heading into the fall wedding season, there is a playful spirit that takes over. Hollywood is a fantastic source of inspiration for all things, those especially wedding. Woodland weddings are a perfect place to harness the fall energy while offering up a playland to work with. A group of California wedding pros got together, wanting to bring to life a Hollywood inspired fairy tale wedding, Snow White & The Huntsman. Taking a cue from fantasy, the team decided to articulate their vision into a woodland wedding filled with antique decor & furnishings that spoke to a time long ago. Working with pieces from a byfone era, elements like heirloom china & jewelry from Koryn of Intimate Gatherings grandmother were used. Dipping into fall's own hues, berries and blushes from The Wild Floral Co dotted the warm tone surroundings. Wanting to capture the true adventurous nature to the cinematic revision, two stunning wedding dresses dance in the dappled woodland light playing beautifully on the lighter and darker side of the story. Bringing everything together, Victoria Johansson Photography artfully captured each savory little detail, giving life to the fairy tale story.
I'll be honest, when I first received this submission I thought to myself, Harry Potter? I struggled back-and-forth with the idea, thinking had the moment passed for a Harry Potter wedding, was it long gone now? As I made my way through the styled shoot I began to take note of beautifully arranged florals by marigold + Moss featuring choice blooms in lush dark hues. I saw table top decor from Bon Goût Party Deco styled by Just Styling executed with refined elegance and a graceful touch of class. Then I saw that piece de resistance to this Harry Potter wedding, a set featuring floating candles that decorated the air above and I knew I was hooked. Whether or not you're someone looking to be directly inspired by Harry Potter or someone that simply loves a sense of whimsy, this stylish take on magical design is up just about everyone's alley. In the perfect moody color palette the shoot dances on dream inspiring details, allowing your senses to do the heavy lifting. The spirit to gem is captured by wedding photographer Diana Bello Studio and does a treat of a job inspiring future brides no matter the direct influence!

Whenever I travel there is a particular place I seek out to visit if they exist in the area, ruins. There is something so incredibly enchanting about them. The mix of man made structure, left undone, overtaken by nature. Over-sized windows that now serve as doorways, a preview into the next landscape that lays just around the corner. I have long since been infatuated with the idea of a ruins wedding. When real bride Lexi, along with wedding photographer Casey Hendrickson Photography, set off for her portrait session, they headed to the dreamy North Carolina hideaway of Old Sheldon Church Ruins. Dripping in southern bride elegance, Lexi's look is one that is perfectly on trend. From a draped & cinched silhouette wedding dress, to the pulled apart braid wrapped around her neck, dotted with baby's breath. The duo took over the ruins around golden hour only to be meet with severe thunderstorms & the threat of tornado. Not ones to back down easily, they instead yielded the inclement weather into artistry, resulting in a wonderfully romantic ruins wedding dream.
