Oh my dear friends, its only Monday and we are off to a wonderfully sweet start!! Candy as a wedding theme is not exactly a new idea, however, time & again, its the execution that separates the doers from the triers. What on earth am I on about right? Ideas are great in theory, but if the taste level isnt there, the creative execution & most importantly design savvy, the simplest of ideas, do not pan out as expected. LivingSimplicity, along with some other stellar British Columbia vendors came together to create a world of vintage rustic charm providing the perfect background for a Wonka worthy Candy Theme. Utilizing a gorgeous old school floral pattern, the plates along with the distressed wood tables offer up a place for the candy dream to take flight creating whimsy at every turn. Rock candy, reinvented cotton candy, cupcakes, giant rainbow swirl lollipops, taffy, and so much more playfully join together in harmony. Vintage books & their pages are used to create a familiar design aesthetic not only on the tablescape but in the bunting as well which frames the dessert table. Pops of lace & pearl serve to soften up the rustic wood tables, giving a light feminine touch to the overall feel. Dynamic florals in strong technicolor hues provide powerful bursts of color in the form of garden roses, peonies, billy balls and my own personal OMG is that....Meringue in the bouquet?! Absolutely brilliant! I love love love the act of incorporating sweets into the arrangements themselves in a lovely complementary way! With this shoot as a styled guide, I hope to see a surge of many more stunningly sweet affairs!

For the record, I loooove New Orleans. I started visiting New Orleans Bi-Yearly starting around 2004 and fell head over heels for the mystical city. The city I know is not the one filled of drunken people looking to shuck beads at willing flashers while downing every alcoholic beverage known to man. I know a city that is filled with old American history, influenced by both the Brits & the French complete with a deep cultural mix of samplings from around the world. The food is outstanding: I genuinely suggest you don't eat for days before hand, no joke! The joie de vivre & old world society run deeps & you find yourself in an other worldly place that is captivating no matter how many times you return.

Soft dreamy whites with touches of pastels work in harmony for this modern vintage feel Jame's Island South Carolina wedding. Katie Hloderwski & Mike Vitale were not only fortunate enough to find true love in one another, they had a gracious friend who opened up their private home, playing host to this sweet southern black tie affair. Finding ways to make sure their wedding was truly theirs, our lovely couple personalized guitar pics for the wedding guest meanwhile our stunning bride Katie, hand made the lace sashes that her bridesmaids wore! Our bride was simply stunning with orchids in her hair and the perfect wide champagne colored ribbon sash completely her looking. Grab a sweet tea and stroll this gorgeous wedding!
Allow me to give your mind a bit of mental stretching for a moment. Roughly 2 months ago I featured a super sweet young Asian couple who's engagement session was in the eerily wonderful El Dorado Mine & Ghost Town. The ideas & attention to detail made me eager with anticipation for their wedding, I mean why not! When your couple is willing to sit square in the middle of the road, fist full of balloons, for one hell of a shot, your hopes get pretty high for their wedding day you know what I mean?! Nicole Sibulo & Neal Gregorio finally did tie the knot just recently, marrying in a Spanish mission inspired church on a gorgeous Las Vegas day. The bridesmaids were dressed in light pink flowing Greecianesque dresses, while the bride herself wore a perfectly fitted sweetheart neckline corset top gown with ruched bottom. Manolo Blahnik's firmly placed on her feet, Nicole was off to enjoy her dream day. Gorgeous florals dressed the affair in the softest of pinks with pops of just the right accent colors. Ever one for small fun details, N&N's (thats right, N&N's!) were outfitted in their very own mason jars as gifts for the guests. Nicole & Neal's wedding day was perfectly luxurious with just the right amount of down to earth.
