1. North Wales Great Orme Stormy Wintry UK Wedding

For those not faint of heart, opting to shoot during inclement weather can offer up some incredible rewards.  Often the skies are wondrously moody, the air unsettled potentially leading to fog and mist while the wind... the wind can be absolutely everything.  While shooting during intense weather wasn't the original plan, when weather struck, wedding photographer Avonné Photography  did not back down.  Instead she embraced the brutal weather Great Orme turning the shoot into a beautifully stormy wintry UK wedding bridal session.  The beauty to the shoot overall is how powerful of a force nature plays into each and every moment, serving to heighten and enhance each design choice.  From the simple sleek J.Crew wedding dress that plays tag in the wind, to the thick wool tartan blanket warped around the bride juxtaposed to the angry winds.  A collection of dark moody blooms were assembled into a wild and free bouquet, the perfect pairing to this UK wedding inspiro.  No matter how hard we try to plan, be it a real wedding or one for a photo shoot, weather is the one aspect you can never control.  Try not to get dishearten by it, instead embrace the elements as much as you can and turn them into your 12th man.

  2. Arkansas’s Dandy Roll Print Shop Vintage Indie Wedding

If ever there was a love song to indie wedding seekers, this wonderful styled shoot from wedding photographer Caitlin Trickett Photography at the uniquely cool Dandy Roll print shop, just might be it.  Dandy Roll, collects and sells antique prints and maps dating back to the early 1900's.  The shop has a working printing press, and uses reclaimed barn wood to make gorgeous frames.  Taking a cue from their eclectic vintage surroundings filled of prints and poetry books, the team imagined the bride as a poet who wondered into her own wedding.  Bringing on the sense of a boho indie wedding, a sweet heart table was set near the large shop front windows, while the table was adorned with rustic nosh detailing, accented by shop prints of course!  Much like a true indie bride would be, our poet dons a simple white dress from Anthro, perfectly paired with vintage brown shoes.  There is a causal coolness to this indie wedding that is inescapable, the kind that no matter how hard you try, you simply can not replicate, it just is.  The locale is incredible, the table divine and the style.... utter indie wedding perfection.

  3. Rustic Winter Harvest Wedding With A Boho Spirit

Love.  Its often described through certain colors, certain flowery descriptors.  The truth is, love doesnt fit into one perfect box.  Love is also deep, dark, mysterious, brooding, angry, fierce, tormented and often wildly intense.  While today is surely to be filled with stereotypical interpretations,  I offer a version of the moody side in the form of The Gather Workshop.  A collection of Michigan's wedding pros got together to create a unique and thoughtful styled shoot that is a gorgeous marriage of rustic winter meets harvest wedding.  Working with the stark and bare world that fills our field of vision in the winter months, the team brought life to the harvest wedding by utilizing a bounty of earthly goods.  Fresh elements like ornamental and real cabbages, artichokes, carrots, peppers, apples and so much more appear in places like bouquets and table settings.  From a wedding fashion standpoint, the dress is boho chic, accented by the lush and overflowing floral crown, a harvest wedding must.  Our bride's winter wrap and antler detailing are reminders of season, while a table nestled between the evergreen's provides the perfect amount of green to take our minds...

  4. Exceptionally Gorgeous Moody Australian Elopement

There are few things that, from a creative standpoint, get me out of bed in the morning.  Rather I should say, there are few things that lock me snuggled into bed as I dreamily glide through each image, entranced by what I see.  Moody, earthy artful yumminess is certainly on that short list.  When I stumbled upon Australian wedding photographer Ine Ertvaag Photography styled elopement along the Australian coastline, you can best believe I didnt budge one inch out of bed. In fact I snuggled down hard as I walked through each and every frame of the elopement.  The brilliance to the way that Ine captured such a simple (lacking in details :0 ) elopement is the very fingerprint to why, if dont value you wedding photography, true good wedding photography, you're a bloody fool.  I wasn't there, but you better believe I was standing right next to them as I leafed through the story.  I felt my own hair a complete mess, pushed around with reckless abandon by the wind.  My eyes ached with each adjustment to the fading light.  My own skin felt of the very same goosebumps Ine captured as the tendrils of the Gwendolynne wedding dress beat against her skin.  True, honest, & worthy wedding photography is not about being able to look back at images and think to yourself, yup thats is what happened.  Its about seeing even a solitary image and feeling as if it comes alive...
