Inspired by William Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet, a team of local West Virginia wedding pros turned The Carriage House into a wonderfully romantic winter wedding. Working with rich textures like fur and velvet, a complimentary color palette of deep reds and blush pinks were selected to breathe life into their winter wedding. A stunning vintage soft pink tufted couch from The Mustard Couch created the most gorgeous portrait opportunity, perfect for canoodling. Wanting to taking a playful turn, an outdoor reception table was set, lined with rich greens dotted by organic detailing such as picturesque pomegranates. Really giving off the romantic storybook feel is combination of stone locale in the Carriage House plus our bride's stunning long sleeved full skirt Hayley Paige. Maybe its just me, but this is the kind of winter wedding everyone goes nuts about!
Unable to work with wedding photographers T&K PHOTOGRAPHY on their wedding day, Rhiannon & Christopher meet up with them just 24 hours after they were married for a portrait session. Mother nature however, had other plans. Weather rolled in, misty gray skies took hold, but the duo was undeterred. The result is a wonderfully moody rain soaked portrait session featuring two very different locales. The first, set in a dark brooding forest, gives off the most fantastic storybook vibes. The second locale for the portrait session, was an open rolling field, which by happenstance, made for the perfect spot location once the rain rolled in. What I truly love is how the couple embraced the torment and emotion that being caught in the rain brings, while T&K captured the most delicious stills. Rhiannon is an emerging model with Wilhelmina Models, Chris in the Navy, both more than gritty enough to take on such dreamy rain soaked moments.
Iceland is one of those magical wanderlust locales. A top travel destination, a sure bucket list item for most. So many photographers and creatives that I know actively seek out an Iceland adventure, its no surprise that Iceland elopements are all kinds of utter perfection. Didi and Nick have an adventurous spirit yet wanted a intimate day spent in a special world that felt like it was created just for them. Teaming up with wedding photographer Your Adventure Wedding, the trio were on the hunt for the most amazing of locations. Seeking out private off the beaten path areas for their Iceland elopement, the couple explored a stunning secret waterfall, offbeat canyons, and an incredible mountain vista locale. The result is an Iceland elopement that is storybook perfection, filled with lush green Iceland dreams!
In my time I have seen some incredible Spanish weddings. No matter what the artistic direction might be, there are two elements always present, style & passion. When wedding planner La Puesta en Escena sent this red essence Spanish wedding my way, set in the unique locale of a poinsettia farm, I was immediately captivated by all it had to offer. The location, the styling, the incredibly unique bouquet and the delicious moodiness with which it was all captured spoke to me. I also love the insight on why the location was so choice, "The poinsettia, so recognized as a Christmas plant, has a lot of work, (to become a full size plant) which made me think about a wedding. It needs 6 months of preparation, from planting the cutting until it starts to bloom. All this taking care of it with care and nutrients." Joined by Spanish wedding photographer Carlos Lucca Fotografo, the team pulled together a dark & wondrous styled shoot that spills of moody love and deep red passion. While each image speaks for itself in this moody Spanish wedding, do not miss the in's and out's of why each element was chosen after the gallery. This is not your cookie cutter wedding, and for that, I could not love it anymore than I currently do.
