1. A Lake Michigan Inspired Seaside Wedding Day With Netting As The Tying Element

Rounding out the week, I figured I would end on a place that is calming & serene, like Lake Michigan! This little styled shoot has some great touches that are totally borrow worthy for those considering a seaside inspired theme for their wedding days. Perhaps my favorite touch over all is one well tied together element...Netting! The use of the netting on the table top is fantastic & I complete love the idea of it! Carrying that element on, what you might not realize at first, our bride's birdcage veil...yup thats netting! Fastened with some well placed pearl touches, this takes the idea of a veil and brings it right into the wheel house of the seaside theme. Lastly, the use of twine (like netting!) with seashell touches wrapped around the bouquets brings everything full circle! Have a Fantastic Sea Dreamy Weekend Everyone!!

  2. How Sweet It Is Indeed! A Styled Candy Themed Wedding Gives Wonka A Run For His Money

Oh my dear friends, its only Monday and we are off to a wonderfully sweet start!! Candy as a wedding theme is not exactly a new idea, however, time & again, its the execution that separates the doers from the triers. What on earth am I on about right? Ideas are great in theory, but if the taste level isnt there, the creative execution & most importantly design savvy, the simplest of ideas, do not pan out as expected. LivingSimplicity, along with some other stellar British Columbia vendors came together to create a world of vintage rustic charm providing the perfect background for a Wonka worthy Candy Theme. Utilizing a gorgeous old school floral pattern, the plates along with the distressed wood tables offer up a place for the candy dream to take flight creating whimsy at every turn. Rock candy, reinvented cotton candy, cupcakes, giant rainbow swirl lollipops, taffy, and so much more playfully join together in harmony. Vintage books & their pages are used to create a familiar design aesthetic not only on the tablescape but in the bunting as well which frames the dessert table. Pops of lace & pearl serve to soften up the rustic wood tables, giving a light feminine touch to the overall feel. Dynamic florals in strong technicolor hues provide powerful bursts of color in the form of garden roses, peonies, billy balls and my own personal OMG is that....Meringue in the bouquet?! Absolutely brilliant! I love love love the act of incorporating sweets into the arrangements themselves in a lovely complementary way! With this shoot as a styled guide, I hope to see a surge of many more stunningly sweet affairs!

  3. 4th of July Inspired Wedding: Red, White, and Blue Done To Perfection

First order of business, Happy 4th of July everyone!! This is literally one of my most favorite holidays of the year if you can believe it. The Americana, the parades, the food, the drinking, the hanging out together laughing & of course, the fireworks! For the last few years we have been heading up to Stowe, Vermont for the 4th and it truly has become a staple in our lives. Beyond the town's beauty lays small town America personified. Stowe takes their Independence Day quite seriously here with everything from well done games for children to live bands playing while outstanding local food wafts through the air. The firework display here is one of the best I have ever had the privilege to see. Perhaps my absolute favoritest part (yes bad grammar but I don't care), the explosion of the fireworks actually echos off the mountain ranges. It truly is, AMAZING!

  4. 1950s Hollywood Inspired Vintage Lingerie Boudoir Shoot

When I received this shoot from Katherine Henry Boudoir, I got absolutely giddy! Not only is it a perfectly styled, well put together vintage shoot, but it is the perfect example for those wavering on whether or not to do something like this. As you will note, our lovely model at no time is anything less then perfectly clothed, yet the sex appeal, the intimacy levels are through the roof! You dont have to be stripped of your clothing to be sexy ladies! As I brought up earlier, women by nature and by definition are sexy! Add in the throw back feel to this shoot while still being modern and you have the total package. I should also note, the accessories on our gorgeous model were actually provided by a friend of mine at Happily Ever BorroWED, which for our brides-to-be, you simply must consider borrowing accessories vs buying (You'll save a ton of money!). Enjoy this amazing boudoir shoot, I know I did!!
