This is one of those weddings…  You know the kind, the kind that is simply too amazing and seems to grow in gorgeousness with each and every click to the next image.  The kind that is a total nightmare to edit because honestly, there are no second bests in this stack!  So what is a gal to do right?!  I could say I am sorry for the wonderfully long editorial display from New York City based wedding photographer Brookelyn Photography that you’re about to witness, but the hard truth is, I’m not!  Starting with an incredibly gorgeous couple, a picture perfect Manhattan skyline location à la Brooklyn, toss in utterly gobsmackingly stunning arrangement in floral & event design and some super cool tasty treats all while being brilliantly captured on film {read with a growing fever pitch of excitement!} and well, I am throwing my editor’s hands in the air, don’t make me choose favorites because I cant…. I wont!!  Some couples & their weddings simply just have an inherit hotness that radiates from them, its a simple truth. It’s not something they try to do, it just is. Petite secret, I’ve known the bride, Laura Katona, now for some 7+ years, socially and I do mean that term ‘virally’. We often joke how our relationship started off in person {thanks to a mutual friend who makes a cameo!} and evolved into a voyeuristic Facebook friendship, each championing the other along in our lives.  Laura and her beau, Guerin Blask, have one of those amazing love stories that authors dream of writing about spanning the course of 11 years starting off in college.  When I heard about their engagement, I just knew these two were going to have the most amazing wedding and boy was I right!  Billowy white blooms, abstract earthy greens in moss, grass and succulents, rustic industrial space, traveling oyster shucker during cocktail hour, umbrellas, cruisers, the list goes on.  I hope you’ve carved out a proper moment of your time because your going to want to savor every last delicious bite of this sexy Brooklyn fete!

Novella of the Bride…

Guerin and I met at Ithaca College in 2001 (I was 19, he was 20). He’s a drummer (has been since he was 2!), I’m in marketing. When he’s not on the road and I’m not in the office, we spend every waking minute together. Our love has grown so deeply over the past 11 years that I felt so lucky standing there on our wedding day – marrying the person I can’t wait to grow old with.

A lot of people consider Brooklyn to be brash, ugly, warehouse-y, old, etc., so we wanted to have a bit of shock value so people could see just how beautiful Brooklyn can be.  We wanted somewhere that felt genuine to us, our lifestyle, our love of Brooklyn. We steered clear of those typical venues and tried finding something that felt really unique. We love strolling around Red Hook and quite literally stumbled upon the Liberty Warehouse…and the rest is history!

Look & Feel Of The Day…
Wedding Buzzwords: Classic, Beautiful {SBW:clearly!}, Warm, Brooklyn, Festive, and Exciting
Specialty Cocktails: Strawberry basil margarita {Guerin}, Spiked jalapeno lemonade {Laura}

We had all white flowers mixed with greens, a huge floral chuppah, and candles down the moss runner of every table, which gave the warehouse venue a very “classy” feel. Our special touches were the random pops of excitement throughout the evening, from the special live performances by friends and family to the ice cream truck and lantern lighting at the end of the night. It was hot as hell on our wedding day, but we wanted people to be up and active!

A Little Help From Their Friends…
My twin sister was basically our MOH and best man. She helped from the moment Guerin said he wanted to propose all the way through to our wedding day. Neither of us could have managed without her.

Bride’s Favorite Moment: “Reading my vows. I was having the most difficult time trying to condense 11 years of love into just a few lines of text. I was attempting to write them on my phone, since it’s always on me and I wanted to make sure I could jot ideas down when they struck – and the morning of our wedding, it just clicked. I read them off my phone, partly because it felt appropriate, since that’s where I had written them, but also because I was worried I’d forget to bring the paper to the ceremony. They felt perfect. I cried all the way through them.”
