A Word From The Photographer, Bartlett Pair Photography

“Natalie and Numa are a perfect match for one another and their entire wedding day really showcased their fabulous personalities. Natalie’s attention to detail was visible in every part of her wedding, from the ceremony at Waterworks to the Tendenza wedding reception. We started the day at the Sofitel in Philadelphia where I started photographing the girls while Lincoln stuck with the guys. Natalie and the girls got their hair and makeup done upstairs while everyone gushed over Natalie’s divine details; from her shoes to her garter to the little champagne glass charms with each bridesmaids’ name on them! From the Sofitel the bridal party went to Waterworks for the ceremony. It was a beautiful setup with the Philadelphia Art Museum visible in the background and beautiful columns segregating the ceremony space. The ceremony had live music and delicious lemonade for the guests to enjoy. It was a very fun ceremony and you could tell that Natalie and Numa’s personal connection to their officiant really made it all the more special for her to be marrying them. The reception, held at Tendenza, was a stunning combination of different textures, colors, and there were personalized table numbers that were actually special places to Natalie and Numa.  The centerpieces were gorgeous and lush and it was obvious that Tendenza was the perfect reception venue for such a city-loving couple!

In The Details– Rarely have I seen so many perfect little customized details, all in the same wedding!  Natalie & Numa truly went to task finding so very many wonderful ways to personalize their wedding day.  Our sweet bride started the day off with custom drink charms for her girls {loooove these!}, & punctuated their way through the  day with everything from table numbers in the form of places special to the couple, Mr & Mrs bunting, Philly Love Flags, various adorable signage & so much more.  I must say however, I think by far my favorite is a simple little detail that would serve so many other future couples so very well… the Big Day Timeline.  This…. is genius!  How often do you hear how everyone felt they didnt know where to be when, etc?!  Simply make a cute timeline handout and voilà!  Now everyone will be well informed & can focus on you guys!  Its that small extra step that makes ALL the difference!

Its Tops!– I am completely crushing over the cake topper!  I adore the styling of these sweet wooden characters right down to the matching clothing, N&N heart AND did you notice the perfect lightly drawn beard for Numa!?  LOVE!

Bridal Style– Let’s just be frank here guys, Natalie is a lovely lovely bride!  She is one of those gals that has a infectious smile with a beautiful  happy face that is simply radiant.  Her gown of choice was perfection for her body as well as their modern wedding style.  I love her choice of a middle level swept back chignon tuck with low set veil, while her makeup is done just right.  Remember ladies, on your day, there is no need for your makeup to make a crazy statement all its own.  Let your natural beauty flow!

The Color Palette– I have seen my share of yellow & gray weddings and I must say, I really truly appreciate the level of reserve that was exercised here.  So often couple thinks picking colors means the wedding has to drown in them.  In Natalie & Numa’s case, they showed restraint in all the right places!  Relying heavily on cream to be the great equalizer, our couple crafted a day that utilized their palette in a more accent aspect, opting to work with naturally found yellows in things like lemons, lilies & billy balls.  While gray was understated at the ceremony, it was allowed to be a star at the reception, utilizing strong gunmetal linens for some of the tables, while glass tables were used in other cases.  The effect of mixing things up breaks up the color scheme in a way that is much more pleasing to the eye, not drenching you into gray oblivion.  The overall effect is a sweet wedding with the right injections of yellow & gray, perfectly styled!
