I adore sweet things and sentimental touches and today’s lovely engagement session from wedding photographer Rachel Solomon Photography features just that.  With a first date on NYE, Ryan Varriale knew that it was a NYE down the road that was the perfect time to propose to Chelsea Piontkowski.  For their Scottsdale engagement session the couple kept the vibe alive of the excitement of popping champagne in celebration for the new year, only this time, toasting their engagement!  Here is Chelsea’s sweet account of how the proposal went down.

“Well, the morning of NYE Ryan asked me if I wanted to go check out a new park. For a minute I thought he was going to pop the question while we were there, but then once we got to the park I completely forgot about it. That night we had plans for dinner. Our friends asked us to go out for a drink for NYE, but Ryan just wanted to go home. When we got home, we turned on the NYE show on TV. I actually fell asleep and woke up about 5 mins before the ball dropped. After we said Happy New Year, Ryan had the ring in his hand and proposed! I was shocked!! Actually, I was half asleep, haha, and so surprised! I almost missed my own proposal! I have always wanted him to propose on NYE since that is when we met, but I never told him that. I started to cry, then couldn’t stop looking at my ring! After all of the excitement, I definitely wasn’t tired anymore! He proposed in our new house that we just moved in to, on NYE, with a GORGEOUS ring! It was perfect and just the two of us!”
