Intimate certainly doesn’t mean any less chic!  Lyndsey Gamble & Johnny Chambers sought to keep their wedding day down in numbers, celebrating with truly their closet friends & family at the wonderfully gorgeous Babcock Vintner’s House part of the Babcock Winery.  This portion of the estate is enchanting in all the right ways, giving off the most stylish California Spanish cottage vibe ever!  Know as one of the most coveted pieces of rental property around, writers have been quoted as saying they could easily spend their days there writing the great American novel!  Picturesque & transcending, the Babock House is literally perfection in the form of a place to say ‘I do’.   The estate as a whole was accented by strands of lights and glistening pewter pots which hang from the trees as well as surrounded by a natural barrier which kept the guests in their own private little world.  An eclectic assembly of mix matched chairs & tables were put together for the ceremony & reception while perfectly understated blooms in hues of ivory & purple were displayed on the tables highlighted by the silver antique platters they were placed on.  I simply can’t get enough of the mixed blooms throughout which have such an amazing private home collection feel, not to mention the special touches here and there like the placing of the bouquet in the sugar bucket!    Lyndsey & Johnny’s wedding was truly one part boho, one part glam and every part perfection!

Novella of the Bride…

Wedding Buzzwords– Intimate, Romantic, Family, Vintage, Stress free, Eclectic, Personal, Fun, Laid Back, Beautiful, Destination, Simple

We met in college and from day one it was pretty much a sure thing we would be together for the long haul. We have been enjoying life together ever sence.    We enjoy the outdoors, surfing, beach time, hiking, getting out of town and into the mountains or wine country. We love traveling everywhere whenever possible. Our families are very important to us and we spend a lot of time with them and our close friends. We have a dog, Byrdie, we  just adore. We both work in the wellness/fitness industries. I am a co-owner of a wellness center and Johnny is a fitness professional. We relaize we are both very blessed/lucky to be where we are in life, love one other, enjoy what we do for a living and live life with happiness.

The entire wedding was a special touch really. We wanted everything about the wedding to be intimate, romantic and personal so that is what we did. We wanted a location that fit our personalities, that was warm and inviting. Our location was gorgeous all on it’s own and set the tone for our vintage-y inspired décor. We really just went with what we love and enjoyed shopping antique stores for decor; classic silver platers, a mix match of antique vases, mercury glass and cafe lights! One really special touch was that we used table cloths and runners that Johnny’s grandmother, Donna had knitted over many years. We layered them everywhere and she had no idea so were able to surprise her as well, which was extra special!

We love Santa Barbara! Santa Barbara is not only where we took our first vacation as a couple; camping, surfing and wine tasting from Refugio State Beach, but it is also where the moutains reach the ocean.  I am a mountain girl at heart, Johnny is a surfer. We have taken many great vacations to the area over the years and we knew it would be so fun to share the natural beauty and amazing wine country with our families. We found the home via much searching online for a vacation rental that would not only allow a wedding but also be unique. The bonus is we get to go back and re-live the event whenever we want!

A Little Help From Their Friends– YES! Johnny’s best friend from kindergarten married us. It was extreamly intimate having someone we both love so much join us as a couple. Diana, mother of the groom, created all of the floral arrangement. She is brilliant, a retired florist so I go spoiled. I did not have to worry about flowers at all. She knows us and what we like. I just wanted all white, shades of white and lots of natural green. She put a lot of the arrangements together a few days before the ceremony so we really got to enjoy them all for days.

Bride’s Favorite Moment: “I am sure many brides say this but there was not one single moment. We made our wedding last 5 days.  Five days of family and great friends staying together in a gorgeous home, cooking, eating, playing games and celebrating as a big family. It was not just one day, 10 hours, it was several days, many moments and an overall theme and feel of pure love and happiness. We all arrived in Montecito two days before the wedding and the day after our wedding we chartered a bus to take us into Santa Ynez for a day of wine tasting. It was amazing to be with everyone we hold so dear to us and all be there for one reason, our marriage. We did it right, right for us for sure.”
