Let’s face it, the one thing above all that most couples fear leading up to their wedding day is weather.  Utterly out of our control, weather is that one thing we feel could break us.  The reality is, it often presents us with a gorgeous perspective we were too distracted with the outside world to see.  Such is the case with Ashtyn & Carlton’s late fall rustic wedding at  L’Abri at Linwood.  Like so very many couples that came before them, the original plan was to say I do a la nature under the hand crafted arbor built by Ashtyn’s father specially for their day.  As luck would have it weather moved in before the ceremony could get under way, forcing a venue change of indoor barn nuptials instead.  The result is an airy, light filled wooden world that became the perfect locale for such a lovely totem to the day which was beautifully accented by lush fall flavored blooms from The Pink Peony.  Another hand touch was a gorgeous 4 tiered wedding cake, a mix of both smooth fondant and textured buttercream, skillfully made by Ashtyn’s grandmother!  Rustic weddings in the fall are a bit more at the mercy of changing weather, but when your truly surrounded by your closest friends and family, what could be more perfect!

Novella of the Bride…

I met carlton almost 6 years ago introduced by a mutual friend! He was shy and reserved I was outgoing and quirky! We instantly hit it off! I was his first girlfriend ever! We spend most of our relationship just having fun swinging at the park traveling together spending a lot of time with each other families. When I tell people about Carlton I always say I wish every woman had a man like him hes kind and so honest! He proposed at at local park where we had one of our first dates! When he picked out my engagement ring he took a long his dad and grandmother and from what I hear the entire store was in tears! We spend a lot time traveling, hunting and playing with our 3 dogs!
We had a very rustic country wedding! With family involved a lot my dad built our arbor along with our card box and centerpiece stands! My grandmother made our cake and my grandfather married us! Our wedding day was filled with a lot of love not just from the 2 of us but from everyone involved! We had a first look which was my favorite part of the entire wedding day! The emotion was just so amazing and that special time with him meant everything
We chose our venue because of the cozy feel and rustic feeling. You could just tell there was so much love in the place. The owners poured there heart in soul into our wedding! It just had a warm feel to the entire venue! From the barn to the pond! The grounds are beautiful and the grooms cottage and bridal suite and amazingly a perfect place to get ready for your wedding! I really felt like the owners cared about us and became like family!  No detail was left out when they designed the place the barn comes with strung lights! A waterfall with a beautiful cedar fence behind the barn! The day of my wedding an awful storm came along and I remember the owner holding my hand and praying with me! It was so much more than a wedding venue, it was th perfect place to start our lives together!
