To hear of love at first sight and truly believe in its existence is a rarity.  To view it as a third party voyeur like myself and know within one look that its real is simply captivating.  The moment Noemi & Patrick’s garden wedding came my way from Canadian wedding photographer Sonia Bourdon Photographe, I knew there was something extra special about it.  When I later read of how it was love at first, I realized that it all made sense!  While their personal beauty is surely easy on the eyes, its the emotions between the two that is hard to deny.  It should be no surprise that their wedding day was a chic celebration of their romance, in a way that is truly befitting.  With a slightly rustic hand, details were put together that crafted an elevated homespun feel.  Heavy mophead hydrangea blooms lined the aisle while thick cut slices of natural wood elevate ball jars & flickering candles.  Their ceremony was nestled in the trees adjacent to the reception, creating a gorgeously understand garden wedding.  Simple details, done with a masterful hand, created the perfect environment at Montreal’s Pavillon de la Jamaique, and now I know, love at first site is indeed, real.

Novella of the Bride…

Patrick and I met in school, 11 months before getting married. It was love at first sight. Patrick proposed shortly after. Our relationship could be described as pure, simple, intense and passionate at the same time. We both knew it from the second we met that we would spend the rest of our lives together. We are two person that live life to the fullest and that are always ready for new adventures that comes our way. Patrick is caring and always puts me first while I’m energetic and make sure we make the most out of life with my never-ending supply of daily adventures.

Since Patrick and I fell in love at first sight, I would  describe our wedding as being “magical”, “fresh”, “Bubbly”, “outdoorsy”, “DIY”,  filled with surprises and most of all with emotions running high!  Our wedding had a lot of special attentions for our guests. We wanted to have a great time with our friends and family and it showed in those small details. First, when the guests arrived at the pavilion during the afternoon, they could find flavorful freshly squeezed lemonades to wait for the ceremony to begin. Then the ceremony was performed by an officiant that resembles us and our loved ones: entertaining while able to bring the best out of that moment on the emotional side. Back to little details that put a unique touch on the event, we had the Principal Trumpet (Montreal Orchestra) that surprised everyone with an inspired performance. The meal was enlightened by a wedding singer that we picked up in a local restaurant a week prior (he turned out to be the highlight of the night for many guests) Also, we had a midnight foodtruck show up where our very own Patrick serviced our guests with delicious homemade burgers.  Although nothing went according to plan (heavy rain forced us to take our cocktail inside the pavilion and everyone dancing right around the entrees to the disbelief of our caterers), everyone had a blast.

My mom definitely helped us out with the overall organization and creation of all the decor. We put a lot of efforts and love into this wedding by making everything by ourselves. Also, I had the chance to have a friend that is obsessed with weddings, that accepted to be our wedding coordinator. She helped me out for the special day by taking care of all the installation of the pavilion and all details of this special day. She even surprised me with some additional details that she planned by herself and that were a really nice addition to complete our perfect day.

Favorite Moments ~ Aside from the exchange of our vows in front of all our loved ones, our favorite moment was definitely when Patrick and I took time between courses at dinner to look at all our guests singing with the live singer and enjoying their time. At that moment, we knew that we had accomplished exactly what we wanted.
