When this wedding popped into my inbox I got a little giddy!  A Marie Antoinette inspired Victorian wedding featuring a gorgeous gal with the most delicious pink hair donning an incredible Lauren Elaine wedding dress which kicks off her fantastic bridal style!  A delightful groom with his own unique style thanks to Roco Clothing and a ballroom filled with vintage Victorian wedding decor styled by Simply by Tamara Nicole & florist Creative Colors by Patty that would make any Steampunk glam lover squeal!  From the metallic Louboutin lace laser cut pumps to the macaron tower from Lady Yum paired with marble busts… perhaps its the customized portrait of Queen Victoria from SunBirdArts that seals the deal!  Either way, this Seattle Fairmont Olympic Hotel Victorian wedding is filled with so much character and incredible personality, its hard to do anything but fall deeply in love with it!  Seattle wedding photographer Barrie Anne Photography did a gorgeous job capturing each unique moment, but I must admit its the portraits I keep dreaming of!

Notes About The Couple:

Ryan and Jess met at a career fair at the University of Washington, while recruiting for their tech companies. Ryan fell in love immediately. Jess was completely oblivious of what was about to occur. By their second date, they had already been dreaming of marriage and just a few months later he popped the question in Paris. Their lifestyles synced up immediately, with puppies and kitties and swing dancing, as well as staying up late to watch shows and play video games, or going on dates to the bookstore. Their nerdy side quickly kicked in when deciding on a wedding theme: because most of their guests did not understand what “Steampunk” means, they went with a more classic Victorian vibe. From the candelabras, to the marble busts, and even a customized portrait of Queen Victoria, the theme’s elements spread through the venue. Invitations notified the guests that “Fancy Hats” would be required, and the couple was wonderfully overwhelmed with the commitment and enthusiasm guests put into their attire.

Wedding Notes:

They found Ryan’s family name character, Kosai, and got a wax seal stamp made.  This was used on the invitations, on the escort cards, and even as a chocolate wax seal on some of the pastries and petite fours on the dessert table.

Included in the invitation was a card with a drawing of a Victorian era scene for guests to color, and bring to the wedding with a note to the couple

The couple LOVES music- they take swing dance lessons together.  To honor this, they had their friend lead swing dance lessons for the guests.  The dance floor was PACKED and people had such a great time! Jess and Ryan also had an adorable choreographed first dance, followed by a cute dancing number by Jess and her father. THEN later in the evening, Ryan surprised the guests by joining the band with his clarinet for a couple songs, while their friend sang “La Vie en Rose”.

The ring pup! Pompie stole the show, and was the cutest little ring pup ever with his own little suit.

Mixed throughout the decor (and even her bouquet) were strands of pearls and gold and rose gold accents.  Using books (they LOVE to read), tea cups, and other fun vintage items.  Each table was different.  There were even fun character busts around on the tables.

Flanking the aisle were some trees, adorned with crepe paper flowers that the bride and her maids made themselves. Along the back of the aisle were large balloon (from Up and Up Balloons), with a garland of greenery and some flowers, with pearls.

Jess and Ryan made sure to let the guests know the requested attire, AND the guests did not disappoint.  There were so many fun hats, top hats, long cloaks, etc.  It was like we stepped back in time for this wedding.   Prior to the ceremony, the Officiant asked everyone to remove their hats for the ceremony.  After their first kiss, they put hats on each other before heading down the aisle (with guests tossing rose petals) as husband and wife.

That dessert table! Not only did it have a very large, impressive and delicious cake made by the Fairmont pastry chef, there were also fruit tarts, eclairs, petite fours, etc from Hoffman’s Bakery, as well as French Macarons from Lady Yum.
