Well if this seaside Tuscany wedding isn’t a mashup of a few tremendously gorgeous things, I don’t know what is!  Breathtaking Italian cathedral, check.  Wonderfully elegant palette of ivory & light beige, check.  Elevated nautical decor set along side pristine white beach beds & cabanas, check.  And to top it off, one beautiful couple with pure Italian sophistication, CHECK!  Little known is the seaside coast of Versilia, yet still part of Tuscany.  With a deep love for the ocean, Carolina Risaliti & Alessandro Del Guerra opted to share the best of both worlds in a traditional Catholic ceremony & a relaxed nautical chic open air seaside reception.  A hallmark throughout both the ceremony & the reception were stunning arrangements of baby’s breath, quite possibly so lovely that they have forever changed my mind about them!  Italian wedding photographer Facibeni Fotografia does a stunning job of not only capturing Carolina & Alessandro, but the world that surrounds them, truly giving us an insiders view to their day.  From views of the small town around them to details such as captivating light rays through the cathedral windows, Carolina & Alessandro’s world is fully brought to life in one dreamy romantic Tuscany wedding!

Novella of the Bride…

Alessandro and I met in Forte dei Marmi, thanks to some dear friends in common who introduced us. Our story, however, did not begin immediately, but between the desks of a law firm in Milan that brought us together again, in a city so far away and different from where we met for the first time. Although we were both born and raised in Tuscany and although attending (without ever meeting!) the same high school, it was just Milan the city that finally united us.  Alessandro and I have been living since an intense love story, far from ordinary, which gave rise to the wedding proposal that Alessandro gave me during one of our trips to Miami. A romantic dinner at a beautiful restaurant on Ocean Drive. I said yes with an uncontainable happiness, one of the most beautiful moments of our story. Alexander is the most amazing man I’ve ever known and I could not wait to become his wife.

The sea has always been in our hearts and, for this reason, we decided that the sea and the beach would be the setting for our big day. We’ve been able to organize the wedding we wanted, an event that was classy, rich and important. We do not love weddings that are too set and we wanted our guests to spend a nice day at the seaside. We are still Italian and so we decided on a traditional Catholic ceremony in the majestic Cathedral of Pietrasanta. My parents own a small loft just a few steps from the main square. It was great to get to the church on foot, among the glances of the whole town which took to the streets for the occasion.

An indescribable feeling that was manifested by a few tears of joy during my entrance. The flower designer had created for us a beautiful corridor of gypsofila through the nave, an entrance worthy of a real princess that has been the perfect setting for a sober and exciting celebration that filled us with happiness and emotion. For the reception we chose Twiga Beach, renowned seaside resort on the Versilia coast; here we wanted to share with our guests a relaxed atmosphere by the sea. Walking on the sand we welcomed relatives and friends with a fresh Prosecco and a fantastic buffet of fresh fish, then we sat at the table under the stars.

For the preparation I chose to respect the marine theme with all shades of sand color; shells on the table, candles and fishing nets. Imperial tables, crystal glasses and silver cutlery, a very classic style in which I recognize myself in full. Finally, my dress, fresh, simple and timeless. It made me feel wonderful for the whole day. I chose a model of Le Spose di Gio, Italian atelier synonym for years of good taste and refinement. The fitted bodice was draped in silk chiffon wrapped my bust to the hips, leaving my shoulders bare. The skirt, fluffy and light, was made with several layers of silk organza. I preferred a cream-color to white light. For the Church, I wore a beautiful tulle veil with lace edging macramé, for the reception instead I preferred a less traditional look, a fascinator with feathers and veil. I had fun with accessories: amber earrings resumed the color of my hair and the wonderful jewelry and Sergio Rossi sandals that I ‘ve been madly in love with from the first moment! I wanted natural makeup that would not mask too much my characteristic freckles and my colors, and I am more than satisfied with the result.

It was an unforgettable day, the atmosphere we dreamed and the weather that gave us a warm sun that wrapped us up until the evening. Looking back at these images makes me relive moments of intense emotion and feelings. Happiness to its fullest, a dream that turned into a beautiful reality.
