The appeal of a simpler yet more glitzy time has a seductive draw to most.  The glam of the roaring 1920’s a la Hollywood was a captivating time so much so that it is easily appealing to a wide variety of persona.  Jessica Binkley & Damien Webb love the glitz of old Hollywood and knew that a wedding day infused with 1920’s style was spot on for them.  Location was key and Fort Edmonton Park wonderfully housed not just a few perfect venues for the stylish couple, but took care of a lot of the different planning elements of their day, making planning a breeze. Starting with a gorgeous classic white church, Jessica & Damien shared their vows, then moving onto a horse drawn carriage which whisked them away to their vintage fete filled of milk bottle & fluffy cream colored blooms. We love this couple’s suave style from the perfect attire to the sweetly understated reception!

Novella of the Bride…

We met in University (theatre production) and had been going out for a couple years before Damien proposed. We were on a road trip to California when Damien popped the question, by the time we got back from our Vacation we had the details of our wedding planned. We enjoyed making all the invites and place cards ourselves as that was the sort of stuff we did in school.

We went for a 1920’s, old Hollywood glitz feel. Not everything was authentic and we wanted everything to be simple. We asked our guests to wear black and white so it had a feel of a black tie affair. We used all the decorations that were already in the Selkirk as it is a 1920’s hotel. We had a band that played 1920’s/30’s music and we did not go overboard with technical aspects like lights.  We both have a theatre background and love themes. Fort Edmonton Park is one of our favourite places! They also have a number of services so it was nice being able to book everything with one person, made planning the wedding a lot more stressful.

Bride’s Favorite Moment: “The pictures! Fort Edmonton offers a wide variety of backgrounds/props and Justine is a fun photographer!”
