Refined, classic & wonderfully romantic, Sarah Welch & Eric Bratt celebrated their union on the lovely grounds of a private residence in Canada, taking full advantage of the gardens & their chic surroundings.  Decor elements & florals in a mix hue of pink, light blue & ivory were carefully crafted with touches of lace to bring together a true romantic feel.  From the draped ceremony backdrop to the tented reception, guests delighted in everything an estate wedding had to offer, including lawn games to keep things light!  A special touch to the day, the couple started their celebration off by saying a special family vow which was shared between Sarah’s 9 yr old son & their infant baby girl, together as a family.  Additionally, 9 year old Jacob played the wedding march as Sarah walked down the aisle!  Sarah & Eric’s lovely wedding was certainly romantic and wonderfully chic as well as having some pretty wonderful sentimental touches!

Novella of the Bride…

Both Eric and I worked for the same company and although we had spoken many times we had never really had a chance to get to know each other. Luckily for us the company sent everyone away to San Diego for a district meeting. While away Eric and I had gotten a chance to attend social functions and evening on the town together. I realized then that he really was the guy for me, not sure how Eric felt however I was very nervous. The last day of the meeting the company had chartered flights back to Vancouver (where we both lived at the time) to my surprise Eric and I were scheduled on the same flight home and even luckier it wasn’t until late that night. We decided to explore the city of San Diego together and at they say sparks flew. We have been together ever since.
Eric waited two years to propose.  I was pregnant with our daughter at the time and got a sneak peak (well actually I picked out my ring) so I knew the beautiful rock was coming my way. He proposed on his way out of town for work while we were snuggled up in bed. I didn’t want to even think about planning a wedding at that point as we both felt the baby should take priority.

Our inspiration for the wedding was really to have a relaxed day with very close family and friends. Children are a big part of our life and many of our friends so having them are part of our day as well as having an early ceremony then ending early was important to us. How to make that into a beautiful romantic occasion??? I needed help. I picked up a copy of Its Love magazine and as I flipped through the pages I came across an ad for a company called Lace and lavender. Once reviewing their web site I knew this was the company I wanted to have planned our wedding. I placed the call and hired Amanda (the owner of Lace and Lavender) from the moment we decided on the full service package it was smooth sailing. She was able to take my ideas and make them a reality. Asking me questions and sending me pictures until I knew exactly what we wanted our day to look like. Having Lace and Lavender work with us and plan our wedding in only 6 months was literally stress free. They set up all meetings and found our beautiful venue. Not once in the planning process did I ever feel like my wedding was going to be a perfectly beautiful day.

We chose not to have a wedding party as we wanted the wedding to be about us and our family. We did however have our Niece as a flower girl and I bought her dress off of Etsy. Our ceremony was very special as we joined Jacob and I with Eric and brought our daughter (Eloise) into our now compete family circle. Before Eric and I made Vows to each other we all made a vow to each other as a family.

Our favorite part of the wedding is when my son (Jacob) played the wedding march as I walked down the aisle. He is only 9 and I saw how hard he practiced over the months leading up to the wedding. It really was a special gift that I will hold deep in my heart forever.
As far as decor and space our wedding looked to me like a magazine. It was truly beautiful from the flowers to the chairs and fabrics I couldn’t imagine it being any different. I was so grateful for the Lace and Lavender team. I never would have been able to turn the space into something that looked like a fairly tail.
