Little known fact, believe it or not, I grew up on a farm. I have a special kinship & draw to lovely farm weddings as a result. Today’s wedding has some pretty wonderful details but its things that you dont see on paper that really make this wedding so lovely! Firstly, check out that sky at the ceremony! While it makes for some amazing lighting in the photographs, I really applaud the guests for holding strong facing some pretty ammonius skies! Additionally this wedding was a big family affair with everyone helping out to make for such a wonderful day! The day came together beautifully, & the bride looks gorgeous and I love the back of her dress! Enjoy!
“I couldn’t decide on a theme for the wedding so when Jake came up with the idea of getting married in a corn field on the Johnson Family Farm, as his Uncle Sam had for his reception years prior, I went off of that idea for the wedding. I knew I wanted to do an outside & elegant farm wedding. It came down to wanting a venue big enough to fit our guest list of over 500 people. When Grandpa Tom gave us the ok to use the farm, planning could begin.”
“I met Jake in high school, in my mother’s Chemistry class. We dated some in high school but decided that we should go our separate ways when Jake left for college as he was a year older than me. Fate brought us back together when we both ended up at the University of Wisconsin La Crosse and the rest is history.”
“The wedding designers really pulled this theme together with the colors they picked and the florist was able to put together the most beautiful variations of centerpieces.”

“It ended up raining in the middle of our cermony but everyone seemed to have made the best of it as we gathered for drinks before heading back out and I was reminded that it’s good luck if it rains on your wedding day.”
“Jake’s great Grandma Killian was able to be present and this was truly special as she passed away only a few weeks after the wedding. My father/daughter dance was one to remember as my father and I swing danced to Frank Sinatra’s “The Way You Look Tonight” played and sung by my Grandma Frank Steinmetz on his accordion.”

As Jake and I were still in school, details were worked out between wedding planners and family memebers as well as the two of us. Whether it was working out details of booking vendors or crafts to be completed or even the work that needed to be done on the wedding site, the entire Johnson and Steinmetz families made our special day possible.”
