Sometimes meeting in the middle is exactly where you need to be.  Having no direct ties to one specific location, Michelle Casper & Jeremy Palmer opted to take their guests on a journey into the gorgeous south and sample the charm that is Charleston, South Carolina!  Capitalizing on the enchanting grounds of  The River House at Lowndes Grove, Michelle & Jeremy were married under giant oaks with beautifully swaying Spanish moss hanging from the trees.  The wedding came alive with bold coral & orange tones while classic elements with a vintage touch brought a nostalgic feel.  Stealing away from their guests for a bit, Michelle & Jeremy retreated to the neighboring river where wonderfully moody portraits were snapped.  We love the southern feel and can’t get enough of this bold delicious color palette dripping in feminine goodness!

Novella of the Bride…

Jeremy and I met in graduate school at NC State in Raleigh, NC through mutual friends. We actually sat next to each other at orientation our first day, though we didn’t start dating until 3 years later. We have been inseparable ever since, and love to spend our time biking, cooking, eating, traveling, working, and visiting family.

Our families are from all over the place (TN, MI, OK, KY, PA, CA, CO, FL, GA…), so there was no obvious wedding location, so we chose somewhere we love! We had a family vacation there a few years ago and had such a wonderful time that we wanted to have a second family beach week in Charleston (with a wedding thrown in). It is also just a wonderful place that both families love. I really fell in love with the venue because of the indoor/outdoor feel, the intimacy the venue offered, the beautiful river scenery, and the magnificent oak tree with Spanish moss.

Our overall theme was intimate, simple, and elegant with some rustic/ vintage Southern touches. We had some pre-ceremony refreshments- Izze Soda (grapefruit flavor to tie into the coral colors), coral striped straws, cucumber water, and little chalkboard signs around. Our wedding favors were honey straw bundles that we assembled using honey straws from the Savannah Bee Company and some decorative string and tags.

My mom, with the help of my sister, picked my wedding dress off the rack! I went shopping with 6 women in my family, and the dress I chose was the unanimous favorite (though no one told me until after I had decided for myself). All the family, in particular my mother, mother-in-law, sister and sister-in-law were great at helping us make decisions.

Bride’s Favorite Moment: “The cake was fantastic!!! It was almond cake with lemon curd and vanilla buttercream. On a more serious note, I will never forget the emotion of repeating our vows and the look in Jeremy’s eyes. Also, the kiss(es) at the end were unforgettable!”
