I love a good garden wedding.  Factor in a locale with http://viagraonline2015shopusa.com unique greenhouse grounds and a wonderfully cool old mansion, and your quite on your way to a brilliant dream of a garden wedding!  Oklahoma wedding photographer Fife Photography, was on hand to capture the sweet little details in place, carefully selected by Erin Reed & Vince Correa in a mix of minty & beige hues.  Homespun elements such as handmade fabric banners were used in place of more traditional table numbers which were set within a mix of tall vintage glasses harboring single stem blooms, creating a free spirited centerpiece, unique to each table.  Organic details such as locally procured honey served as a sweet combo of guest gift & escort card, while packets of crayons encouraged guests, young & adult alike, to bring out their creative side in the name of love birds!  To bring her vintage garden wedding vision to life, Erin herself donned a sweetly perfect tea length wedding dress, which she completed with a birdcage veil, pinned in such a way to give more a free flowing, less structured feel.  What a dreamy little garden wedding, something filled with handmade details and vintage touches, the perfect accents to bring Sonnenberg Gardens & Mansion State Historic Park to life!

Novella of the Bride…

Vince moved to the small town when he was in 4th grade and Erin was in 3rd.  The school district is a very small school so they knew of each other.  Vince got along with everyone and was a great athlete, especially soccer.  Erin was a tomboy that could be shy at times and get mouthy with teachers at other times.  Although they knew of each other they never hung out.   When Erin was in 5th grade and Vince was in 6th grade students had teamed up for Field Days.  Vince was put on a team with other talented soccer players which included Mike Bonacchi (who stood up in our wedding). Erin was on the opposing team and teachers insisted on putting her in as goalie. Erin begged and pleading the teachers not to have her there because she hated soccer and knew the skill of the opposing team.  She was stuck there anyways.  She won’t ever forget standing in goal when Vince and Mike where spaced from each other as wide as the goal coming down the field passing the ball back and forth.  Her little panicked heart raced.  Vince passed it to Mike who was on Erin’s left and Mike shot the ball right into her face.  Immediately my nose was gushing blood.  Despite the blood, Erin saved the goal! It wasn’t until May 2009 when mutual friends were having a Jack and Jill baby shower.  Erin showed up alone and Vince showed up with Mike.  It was casual and a good time with everyone.  After the party Mike had reached out to Erin saying that the three of them should get together.  A couple days later they got lunch, a few nights they got drinks and a little trio kicked off.  Erin was oblivious to any potential relationship growing between her and Vince.  But it was obvious to everyone else especially Vince. Erin finally caught on to the reality of what Vince brought out of her when he dropped the oldest line in the book while they were out dancing at a cougar bar.

we wanted a nondenominational ceremony so a church was out of the option right away.  We were both feeling risky trying for an outdoor wedding, and the thought of a garden really appealed to us.  Vince picked the garden in the dead of winter, because even without life the grounds were beautifully laid out.  Backyard BBQ was our first inspiring thought.  But we wanted something a little more timeless and classy so we combined the two ideas.  The feel was casual with a wild garden feel.  Light colors were used to create a soft, relaxing, but earthy element.  Special touches include the jars of honey for favors, the DIY projects (backdrop behind us at the reception, flowergirl basket and ring bearer pillow, favors, centerpiece bottles, the chalkboard menu) the bubbles and fans at the ceremony, the flowers, the hangers umbrellas ties and other thank you gifts to our Bridal Party, Erin’s wedding band was crafted by a family friend and melted from  a necklace her grandmother gave her the day of her baptism.  The officiate had known Erin since she was 5 years old.  Our ring bearer, the child of the best man and one of the brides maid, turned 4 on our wedding day so we had sung happy birthday to him.

A Little Help From Their Friends ~ The brides maids, bride and grooms mothers, and aunts through a wonderful bridal shower and bachelorette party and the groomsmen through a stag and bachelor party.  Bride and Grooms fathers covered many wedding expenses.  Jeanne Leary (best man’s mother-in-law) volunteered to do our videography for free, Officiate volunteered his time, Jean Bolton crafted Erin’s wedding band as a wedding present.

Favorite Moments ~ Vince sweating so much and hinting to the best man that he needed a sweat rag to wipe his forehead during the ceremony.  Singing happy birthday to our ring bearer.  All the wild dancers on the floor…. Curt, Mike, and Quinn especially.  (Curt was out of work for 2 days after our wedding because he was so sore, Mike was nearly undressed, and Quinn as red as a beet.  MOST MOST favorite will have to be cutting of the cake and making a mess of Vince’s face.
