Tess Maxwell & Nathan Kruger came into the Storyboard Wedding fold back on back on April 24th with their gorgeous Old School Vegas Engagement Shoot. I loved everything about their shoot, as well as the lovely Tess and Nate, asking Moxie Studios to defiantly send their wedding our way! You might recall Nate’s adorable kids taking part, & they are no less cute in their wedding! For their wedding day they went for a vintage glam feeling, using deep eggplant, grey & white. The shades of purple that were selected were perfection, utilizing deep rich hues in the floral arrangements, as well was, yes I am saying this, stunning Vans sneakers for all the groomsmen! Yes sneakers can be stunning when they are this dope! This wedding is perfect Vegas elegance, taking place at the very height of the strip, on the roof top of the Platinum Hotel. Baroque picture frames, perfectly curated candy bar, & custom blinged up shoes are a few highlights of this sophisticated Vegas stunner!
“The only shoes that Nathan wears are Vans, and we got lucky enough to find them in our wedding colors for him and his groomsmen. Tess wanted blinged out shoes, but couldn?t find a pair in her price range so she did it herself. Tess didn’t have a ‘something old’ so the night before the wedding her mom sewed a gold nugget that her dad had given her when they were married onto her garter. It was a really sweet touch.”
“We had a vintage-glam theme, and our colors were eggplant, grey and white. I hunted down mercury glass vases, baroque picture frames and crystal tea light holders to try to get the theme across without it being over the top. I used a few different styles of mercury glass vases for the centerpieces and had a lot of different styles of picture frames, so that it would look more eclectic. We used the frames to showcase a whole wall of their engagement photos, as well as for signs on the tables. For favors, we decided to do a candy buffet of our favorite candies.”
I love sneaky (in a good way!) awesome grooms! Nate is such a great guy, he pulled a fast one on Tess during the wedding. When the rings were presented during the ceremony, a confused Tess couldn’t quite understand why her ring wasn’t there! Low & behold, our prince charming had actually bought Tess a new, much larger ring! Well played Nate, we approve!
“We wanted something different, and when we saw that we could get married on the rooftop with the Las Vegas Strip in the background we thought that would be perfect. We had two other venues we were also looking at, but the staff at Platinum were so helpful and willing to work with us it was the clear winner.”
Tess is a hairstylist/makeup artist at Mosaic Salon. Nathan is an owner/operator of D-Termination Pest Control. The couple met six years ago at an off-road race in the desert outside of Barstow. Nathan has two children from a previous relationship, Destry and Cameryn.
