First order of business, Happy 4th of July everyone!!  This is literally one of my most favorite holidays of the year if you can believe it.  The Americana, the parades, the food, the drinking, the hanging out together laughing & of course, the fireworks!  For the last few years we have been heading up to Stowe, Vermont for the 4th and it truly has become a staple in our lives.  Beyond the town’s beauty lays small town America personified.  Stowe takes their Independence Day quite seriously here with everything from well done games for children to live bands playing while outstanding local food wafts through the air.  The firework display here is one of the best I have ever had the privilege to see.  Perhaps my absolute favoritest part (yes bad grammar but I don’t care), the explosion of the fireworks actually echos off the mountain ranges.  It truly is, AMAZING!

So now that your primed & ready for Americana at its finest, allow me to guide you through probably my favorite styled shoot to date!  I was so excited when this landed in my inbox, I mean seriously, how can you get more timely and perfect!  There is literally so so much to love about today’s feature, the dream child of Atalanta Jackson of Camellia Wedding Flowers.  What started as a crush on a truck, a 1951 Ford Truck to be exact, has literally bloomed into a gorgeous 4th of July inspired shoot.  After getting the official go ahead to use the truck, Atalanta gathered some outstanding vendors to create this stunning affair featuring patriotic flair.  For any couple considering American colors for their wedding, yet are concerned with the out come, this is essentially the go to guide for how to pull it off to perfection.  While I could literally laundry list all the elements that I adore about this shoot, I will hold myself back and simply highlight them as we go!

*Seriously?!  How amazing are the fork name card holders?!  Love the Butcher Paper Card Stock backings for the name cards & menu as well.  Seersucker wrapped centerpieces are the perfect summer Americana accoutrements and a subtle way to inject blue into any color scheme.

*A simple way to dress up any invite or menu, fabric bands.  For this shoot, they adorned the band with a simple shabby chic white nautical star, perfection!

*When designing any kind of stationary for your wedding suite, choosing the right fonts, in a small variety, that work harmoniously together, is key!

*The use of wood at any event brings a strong natural organic feel to the overall theme.  In this instance, the use of a wood table along with wood place settings allowed them to use the patriotic color scheme in all the right accent pieces.  Offering a place to rest, the wood gives the eye a place of calm, resulting in your accepting this strong color scheme as poetry versus offensive.

*What a classy way to redo the old Just Married soup can streamer cars.  The twine lined flowers take what once was a trashy throw away and elevates!

*Play the number game.  Utilizing numbered items to your advantage makes for fun & whimsical decor elements!  If your able to find numbered tea cups such as above, how perfect would they be showing the date of your event!

*Our bride Maria was dressed by Sparrow Bridal in a crushed silk gown, velvet blue sash, vintage red broach, and of course, sexy red shoes!

*The key to working with such strongly identifiable colors as red, white & blue is how & where you use them.  Using the colors sparingly and in the right places, a red, white, blue dream is easily obtainable.  Also, dont forget, food counts!  Food is a wonderful area to carry through your color scheme, perhaps giving you opportunities to inject more of a color that might not play out well in large format.  Likewise, beverages can be another great area to play with your colors.
