Art school cool. It sounds like something you say when you’re trying to be clever, however being an art school alumni myself, I can attest, art school cool is indeed a very real thing! Easily sliding in to the world of all things hipster, an art school hipster wedding is pretty much the stuff that modern millennial dreams are made. During last fall’s New York Bridal Fashion Week, Aisle Society & Minted hosted a gala that played off the very idea of diversity in the world of weddings, head on. Showcasing inspiration from a beach wedding brought to life complete with sand and palm trees, to a rustic mountain wedding filled with log seating weighing in the 100’s of pounds. One faction of the diversity was a uniquely cool art school hipster wedding that paid homage to the collection of boho fair that might typically dress a room. From walls lined with indie art dripping in greens by Sachi Rose Design, to re-purposed trophy’s that spoke to achievement, details like vintage vinyl and metal tables breathed life into the whole hipster wedding. In the spirit of oneness meets technology, an unique guest experience was set up via the Wending Machines, which allowed guests to hand select the very items they received as wedding gifts a la vending machine. Each moment was captured in perfectly moody detail by wedding photographer Sasithon Photography, while art school cool bridal fashion looks were brought to life thanks to Rebecca Schoneveld Bridal, Greenwich St. Jewelers, Hushed Commotion and Menguin. For the finishing touch, the amazing team at MG Hair & Makeup skillfully evoked the most play it cool meets OMG your style is completely amazing, with killer hair and makeup. What could possible be more art school cool??
