Lindsay Parrott went all out for her dramatic, offbeat styled shoot at the elegant Red Rock Country Club. Boho shades of burgundy, royal blue, and burnt orange paired together with the luxe velvet of the bridesmaid dresses created a bold statement that set the tone for the entire shoot. The reception place setting didn’t fall short of greatness either. The dark, matte tableware contrasted perfectly with the vibrant florals. Our personal favorite detail from this day, though, was the table runner scripted with the vows. Want to bring the ‘wow’ factor to your day? Then you’ll want to take a look at this inspo.

What was your design inspiration?

The Late Sixties, Spahn Ranch, Manson and the colors of fall.

Describe your flowers.

Earthy fall tones with dry textures and elegant blooms such as roses, orchids, pampas, and dried grass.

Describe your cake.

The cake was inspired by three separate cake designs. The top tier paid tribute to our great-grandparents’ wedding cake with an exaggerated fondant bow with draping. The middle tier needed to be simple and be a subtle change to the bottom tier so it had pearl dots which made it look romantic, traditional and soft. The bottom tier brought in the Bohemian vibe. Hand-painted flowers accented the entire tier in the color scheme of the bridesmaids dresses. The flavor was a hibiscus sponge cake with lychee filling and vanilla icing.

Tell us about your attire choices.

Normally, I start from the bride down but I knew the bridesmaids had to have specific styles and colors. I went with the primary colors in jewel tones. The dresses needed very little dressing up and some of the girls got bands for their fingers, while others got detailed gold hoops. I really wanted the bride to have something lace, revealing but still romantic and have a detailed bodice.

Please describe any DIY, handmade or personal details.

The favors were hand-rolled joints in clear bags that said “Elevate”. The custom cocktails were themed after it. The bride & groom did a “Joint” Ceremony after their vows where the officiant lit sage, cleansed them both and then they lit their separate joints off the sage bundle and had their first kiss (with a little smoke). The table runner was handwritten (their vows).

Describe the tablescape elements.

The tablescape needed to look whimsical, but still romantic and earthy. I used different color goblets (in theme with the bridesmaids dresses) as well as mixed up the textures of the other glassware on the table. The crystal whiskey glasses gave the place settings the touch of tradition and the past. Black dinner plates, taper candles and flatware popped against the ivory canvas linens. The florals were colorful, but soft.
