For Janelle and Sam’s dreamy vintage rose garden engagement session with Par La Mer Photography, the Connecticut couple wanted a special place to take their portraits at. Unbeknownst to them, The Rose Gardens at Elizabeth Park was this eden-like space that photographer Tonya picked out and they were smitten. Even Janelle’s blush, rose-colored dress and Sam’s soft beige and pink outfit were so point with the mood. We could get lost in these photos.
How did you meet?
Sam and I meet on Okcupid – an online dating website over four years ago! He reached out to me first, we talked everyday and finally met in person. He was gentleman from then to now and here we are !
What is your proposal story?
June 9th, 2018 – I had just had my first bodybuilding competition that day. My family and friends came to the show to support me and I just remember feeling like the happiest girl in the world. We all went out to eat at Prime in Orange, CT to celebrate and there with my family and friends he proposed to me with my now stepson helping by presenting the ring. He had the sweetest speech and it was a lovely moment!
Tell us about the ring/band.
The engagement ring is a 2CT Princess Cut with a Halo and 14K white gold band – it’s also part of the Vera Wang collection which includes a sapphire underneath the band.
