Without a doubt, this blog has the power to transport us to various places at the press of a button and we’re (luckily) privy to so many tender and memorable moments in so many of your lives. It’s safe to say we wholly adore our line of work and we have people like Daniela Nizzoli to thank for it; sending us magnificent events like this relaxed and intimate Tuscan wedding is something we could never tire of.

Daniela was plucked out of the sea of photographers by Tanja and Robert to photograph their al fresco fête in Terre di Nano and suffice it to say: Terre di Nano looks like it just hopped out of a storybook. We adore places like this. It begs for simplicity in decor, and that’s precisely what the pair did. They opted for an all-outdoor wedding with their ceremony site overlooking spectacular views. Their reception was nestled under olive trees and the tables were neatly done, with a vast amount of greenery complementing the surroundings. Toscoana Flowers maintained the rustic motif with white roses and fun pops of coral roses and blush peonies for added depth. All in all, you can do no wrong with a setup like this.

How did you meet?

We met at work where my wife who had had a football injury was posted as she needed to keep her leg up and we had more room at our practice. We bonded over the idea of travel and inappropriate jokes.

What is your proposal story?

We were traveling around Europe in the summer of 2018. I had kept the ring secret for 4 months in my rucksack hidden in a heat pack. We took a bus to Lac des Bouillouses near Font Romeu in the Pyrenees and on the bus I thought, “if I see snow then I will propose.” We walked to the top lake and on the way we saw snow so when we were alone, I set the camera up to take a picture. However I had set a video going and after I pretended to pose for the photograph I knelt down on one knee and surprised the hell out of her. 🙂

What was the most important to the two of you while planning? Was there anything that you chose to splurge on or skip?

We wanted to have a wedding that lasted several days and be relaxed and few enough people so that we could talk to everybody and see all our friends with out it seeming like a chore. This meant we had a small guest list and activities over several days.

What were your favorite parts of the day?

My best man on the way down after us getting ready falling down the stairs and nearly covering me in champagne.

The moment I saw Tanja come around the corner, I could not control the tears with how beautiful she looked.

The end of the night with the last of us sitting down eating as much gelato as possible and my friend slowly falling off the wall.

Do you have any advice for couples planning their weddings now?

Enjoy it, make it the day you want. There is no reason to cause undue stress to yourself on what should be your day. Do not let family rule what you can and can’t do and although you do not want to purposely irritate them, I would not let them rule your wishes.
