Meeting in a bar sounds so cliché but when it’s fate, you can’t fight it. Brittany and Dan serendipitously met in November 2014 in a bar in Baltimore just one month after he relocated for work. It was a random Tuesday night initially, then the rest was history and nearly four years since they met, they made it official and tied the knot.

The pair wanted their day to feel carefree, light, and comfortable, so the sprawling grounds of Allenberry Resort in Pennsylvania ticked off all of their wants on their must-have list. Satin & Sage Events kept to the couple’s natural-themed wedding and opted for browns, greens, and shades of white to allow the venue’s environment to shine. The florals by Foster’s Flower Shop maintained that theme and beautiful installations of huge wooden hoops with Spanish moss and succulents ALMOST stole the show. Almost because inarguably, Brittany and Dan are one of the most beautiful couples we’ve seen, hands down. Check out the photos from Snapped Studios and we think you’ll see why.

How did you meet?

Dan and I met in November of 2014 the old fashioned way…chatting at a bar!  Dan had recently relocated from Philadelphia to Baltimore for work. He was sitting alone at a local watering hole, so I walked right up and started a conversation…and the rest is history!

What is your proposal story?

Dan and I love to explore and travel. We packed up and escaped the cold Baltimore winter for a getaway to the Cayman Island. We went for a beach front stroll as we walked towards our dinner location. I turned a corner, and a small sea grape tree lining the shore was surrounded by flowers and candles. Dan immediately dropped to one knee on the spot!

What was the most important to the two of you while planning? Was there anything that you chose to splurge on or skip?

What was most important to us was to make sure the day was as stress free as possible. When the day came, so many people asked if I was nervous. I did not feel nerves whatsoever. It was simply just another day with each other surrounded by our favorite people. We splurged on photography and videography. These are things you will keep for the rest of your life – make sure they are great!

What were your favorite parts of the day?

Our favorite part of the day was taking photos after the ceremony / during cocktail hour. This was a perfect time for us to genuinely connect and reflect about the day. Allenberry had this massive pile of logs and trees in a corner of their property. The sun was hitting them perfectly, and I could tell our photographers were eyeing them up. I immediately grabbed Dan and ran across a field and started climbing the trees – barefoot and all. Those are our favorite photos!

Do you have any advice for couples planning their weddings now?

Family or friends will dish out unsolicited advice. At the end of the day, the wedding is about you and your partner. Don’t let anyone else’s opinions cloud your vision!
