Phenomenal 1940s Black & White Film Noir Engagement Photos

Let me tell you, these babies are not your average engagement session photos and I could not be more thrilled to share them for just that reason!!  When Hannah & Travis teamed up with Zee Anna Photography the idea to shoot in a film noir style was born!  For those that aren’t savvy, Film Noir is, as noted by Wikipedia, a cinematic term used primarily to describe stylish crime dramas, particularly those that emphasize cynical attitudes and sexual motivations. Hollywood’s classical film noir period is generally regarded as extending from the early 1940s to the late 1950s. Film noir of this era is associated with a low-key black-and-white visual style that has roots in German Expressionist cinematography. Many of the prototypical stories and much of the attitude of classic noir derive from the hard boiled school of crime fiction that emerged in the United States during the Great Depression.  Its oh so important to understand the stylings of film noir as Zee Anna Photography nailed it!  They beautifully captured the most perfect lighting, deep dark and strong as well as evoking the most amazing stoic faces from Hannah & Travis!  This gorgeous black & white session will transport you to a time of old with Hollywood beauty {we agree with Zee Anna, Hannah was totally born in the wrong time period, your stunning girl!} where cigarette/cigar smoke becomes as art in and of itself.  We hope you enjoy this film noir treat as much as we do!
