I have a minor bone to pick with a lot of the fall inspiration that I see so frequently. It seems to me that most people translate fall as purely orange, filled with pumpkins & leaves, which to me becomes so very much Halloween inspired. While one can not deny these things do indeed have a heavy hand in defining what indeed fall is, there is so much more to fall then just that. Fall is so much more complex & wonderful with so very much more to share with us!
Fall to me is a feeling of warm inviting tones. Colors that embrace us & surround us with earthy organic goodness. Rich oranges indeed, but very much so golden yellows, deep soulful plums, strong organic greens & passionate reds. Fall is like the first time you put on your favorite thick woolen sweater. It wraps you in warmth, sharing its love and comfort in a transmission of texture & design. Earthy smells & touch take a strong lead during the fall season, tipping its hand to decor in the form of rich rustic woods, roughed up textures, & starry nights. We also give our last fair well to nature’s special creatures, embracing them for one last hug. I invite you to look at fall in a different way… a way that is filled with deep musky smells, textures that entice the skin, & a color palette that is surpassed by no other!
