Playful Modern St. Patrick’s Day Hawaiian Wedding In Green, Yellow & Orange

A wedding with St. Patrick’s Day serving as the inspiration can be a rather tall order, one that Samantha McCrumb & Tom Hamilton did a smashing job of pulling off.  Rather then going down what easily could have been a messy road, Samantha & Tom opted to keep things clean, modern and simple choosing to bring a whimsical note to the day.  A palette of kelly green, orange & yellow was used to sculpt the things while special touches like a string art form of Italy used as a centerpiece, representing where the couple meet for the first time.  While Hawaii does indeed serve as the backdrop, this is a refreshing departure from a more common place tropical affair.  Held on the grounds of Kualoa Ranch Hawaii, between the ceremony along the water and the reception under the lanai, this gorgeous fete is the perfect blend of chic modern and a wee bit whimsical!

Novella of the Bride…

How we met is kinda unique. We met 7 years ago when I was working as a nanny in Rome, Italy and Tom was stationed in Naples, italy with the Navy. He came up to Rome with friends on St. Patricks Day and we met on a sort of ‘pub crawl’ that my 2 friends worked for. We met, exchanged information and he called me a few days later to say he heard there was a good Indian restaurant in Rome. So, he came up to Rome and we went out on our first date! :). There were many more dates and many more trips to follow. I would go down to Naples, he would cone up to Rome. We got to travel together and experience the country. I left Italy about 4 months after we met when my nanny job ended. He stayed in Italy for about a year and a half more. We kept in touch and he came to visit me when he could. When his tour ended there, he got orders to Connecticut. I moved there as well and ee stayed there for 3 years and then he got orders to Hawaii like we had hoped for!! We did a cross-country road-trip with our dog in tow from Connecticut to california. He proposed at our last stop, San Diego, before we flew to hawaii. When it came to picking a wedding date, it was pretty easy to decide…St. Patricks day.And my favorite color is green so that was a bonus! It was truly a perfect day…marrying my best friend on the day we met 7 years later with our favorite people there to be a part of it.
