Childhood best friends Marjorie and Jose were two peas in a pod all throughout their adolescence and that tight-knit relationship transformed into a much deeper bond. Having that long-lasting connection paves the way for intrinsic elements a relationship needs to thrive, and from Brandon Bibbins’ photos from their classic ranch wedding in Simi Valley, it’s undeniable to see their complete joy. Their adoration for each other is palpable and their cheek-to-cheek grins are giving us some much-needed rejuvenation on this day!
When it came to their nuptials, Marjorie sought a venue that was already extraordinarily decked out in natural beauty that only small, personal touches were necessary. They found their paragon of a place in Quail Ranch in Simi Valley, California on the outskirts of Los Angeles. The Spanish-style estate home erected in the 1930s has a lovely, peaceful ambiance with a courtyard and grounds so optimal for Marjorie and Jose’s guests and what they wanted to achieve, motif-wise. Soft, blush pink and white roses by Floral Lab Design by Jay and neutral tones perfectly complemented the ranch’s fertile, green grounds. We’re grateful for these laid-back, tranquil wedding days that are so easy to gaze upon. Truly, there’s nothing better than a wedding that looks like it came together so effortlessly.
How did you meet?
We grew up together and were best friends during middle school, high school, college and beyond. We only started dating much later!
What is your proposal story?
I booked a weekend trip to the Ritz Laguna Niguel (the bride) and my husband had secretly planned to propose at the cliffs at sunset at the Montage Resort. I had no idea, I thought we were going to get a drink at the bar.
What was the most important to the two of you while planning? Was there anything that you chose to splurge on or skip?
We skipped videographer and too much decor (because the venue was beautiful as is).
We splurged on the venue – it’s PERFECT and we splurged on the right coordinator, photographer and DJ.
What were your favorite parts of the day?
Bride: Mine was standing at the top of the stairs seeing all my friends and family/groom.
Groom: Mine was seeing my wife walk down the aisle.
Do you have any advice for couples planning their weddings now?
It’s extremely stressful so working with Wedding Kate (their planner) made our life easier. 🙂 Pick a venue that’s beautiful on its own so you don’t have to worry so much about decor because there’s just so many options!
