How did you meet?

Groom came over to Bride’s college apartment to pick up a text book from bride’s roommate. Bride saw groom and knew he was the most attractive person she’d ever seen and was going to get his number ASAP

What is your proposal story?

We were supposed to go to Nice France for a vacation. Bride honesty thought he was going to propose before going to France. But then COVID hit and our trip got cancelled so he suggested we go see the Montauk Lighthouse in Long Island and bride definitely saw it coming. When groom asked bride to marry her, her first words were “I Knew It!”

Tell us a little a bit about your wedding

Our goal was funky Boho, and I think it was more boho than funk. We have always loved Nashville and knew it was really special to both of us. We knew we wanted to keep it low key and intimate enough we could talk with everyone in attendance. It was a summer wedding so we tried to keep the colors light and make sure the florals were complimentary

Tell us about your attire choices.

Bride went by herself to pick out her dress. Thought she would go 100 times with mom and MIL and friends. When I put on my dress, I knew right away that this was my dress, it complemented every curve and was exactly the style was I looking for. For a summer wedding in Nashville, I definitely knew I needed something sleeveless.

Groom has always loved James Bond and loves windowpane suits. Found his suit online and decided to give it a try, since he is 6’4 not a lot of suits fit him great without tailoring, but when he tried it on, it fit perfectly and he knew it was right

What was the most important to the two of you while planning? Was there anything that you chose to splurge on or skip?

We just wanted people to have fun. After the year of 2020, our friends and family had been through so much, we just wanted to give them an opportunity to forget for night. We did not do a cake cutting for everyone, just for our photographer and the one of two guests who figured out what was happening. Our wedding planner got us a cake from Publix that morning for photos.

What were your favorite parts of the day?

All of the dancing. Bride loves to dance so from the first song to the last song, it was hard to find me somewhere other than the dance floor. The first look was also so special, bride has seen the groom cry maybe one time and got some tears at the first look, it just felt nice to have that time before the craziness happens.

Tell us about your wedding flowers.

Our florist was amazing. Caliroots listened to what I wanted which was some big statement pieces and the main focal point for the ceremony. We went through like 100 flowers to decide which would be best and she did the rest. I wanted some bright pieces but keep it boho with natural colors and more dried pieces

Please describe any DIY, handmade, or personal details.

The ribbon that was around brides bouquet was grandmother’s. MIL gave bride her necklace and bride’s wedding ring is engraved with initials and wedding date like her grandmother’s ring

Do you have any advice for couples planning their weddings now?

Have fun. It sounds easy, but it’s so easy to get so overwhelmed with all of your options. Before you even start reaching out to vendors, you and your fiancé should sit down and decide what your vision is for your day so you can choose vendors based on your vision. And men don’t be afraid to get into the process
