You guys…. THIS is easily my soft spot wedding of 2014! Seattle wedding photographer Ryan Flynn Photography bestowed a gift upon all of us when he artfully captured the ever dreamy nuptials of Ashley & Michael’s stunning free-spirited Dragonwood Equine Facility wedding in Cle Elum Washington. There are so many amazing little elements going on throughout their day, my favorite of which being that the entire wedding was conducted in sign language {the bride & groom, as well as the officiant, are all hearing impaired}. A voice interpreter was present for the hearing guests creating perhaps one of the most personal weddings yet! On a less heart string more stylized note, every little piece of the wedding was simply beyond. Awe inspiring mountain top location, wonderfully mixed vintage furniture & china at every turn, simply THE most adorable ring bearer & flower girl {her Native American vibed ensemble is out of control cool!} ever and a wonderfully chic free-spirited couple in Ashley & Michael! There are so many terrific little crushes to be had on this wedding, enjoy falling for each and every one of them!
Novella of the Bride…
What was most important to me when planning the wedding is that we really showed our guests how beautiful the Pacific Northwest is, which is why I wanted a ceremony in the woods. Once we picked out our perfect spot, we had to mow the entire pathway and ceremony site, move all the fallen woods, and rocks. Then from the lawn where the reception was we could see the mountains in the background. Almost half of our wedding guests flew in from out of state, so I wanted to make sure that our wedding was a really intimate celebration full of rustic charm! We rented an awesome house for our close friends from out of state – about 16 of us in the house so that was super fun for the weekend!
The ceremony was really sentimental to us because Michael grew up with the Eyob, our officiant, then I met Eyob in college before I even met Michael. So our relationship with him was really important and we loved how personal it was to have him marry us. Eyob is also deaf like Michael and I so it was very personal. We were able to just watch him and listen to him instead of having to go through an interpreter. Those in the audience that are hearing had a voice interpreter for them so it was the other way around. We just loved the reception and dancing the night away because we were surrounded by those that we love and know have always supported us, and will continue to do so in our marriage.
