A note from the ‘writers’ of this Little Red fabled wedding…

With an almost holiday feel, our Little Red Ridinghood involves an elegant wedding for Lil Red and her groom at a treehouse in the woods. It blends modern and natural elements that worked seamlessly with our contemporary design and color palette. The open floor plan looks out over lush trees, a babbling brook, and pond. Our amazing team perfected every aspect of Lil Red’s big day. We selected a fun and flirty Nicole Miller dress for her and donned her groom in charcoal gray tux. It wouldn’t be Lil Red without a splash of red so we adorned her with a whimsical headpiece and red hot shoes. The perfect make up and a simple side chignon completed her transformation into a modern, 21st century bride! Papertini hand-wired a basket filled with tulips, leucadendrons and hypericum berries and also created a simple bouquet of tulips, fiddlehead ferns, hypericum berries with a twist of red wire for her to carry. For her ruggedly handsome groom, we created our signature wired base boutonniere design and a second fun boutonniere to match her tulip bouquet. Custom flowers were created especially for Lil Red! We plucked out the center of roses and replaced them with carnations to create the signature Papertini style peonies and did the same technique for our “rodendrons” (spray roses+leucadendrons). Caterers designed a special menu to include wild mushroom soup cappuccino, beef stew from local Howling Wolf Farm, roast wolf fish and Grandma’s chocolate pudding! A three-tiered cake with wood grain texture and a cascading red ruffle in the style of Lil Red’s caplet was served for all. The hand-stamped wedding stationery included an invitation, ceremony program, table numbers, and place cards with a touch of whimsy. The place card table harkened to a forest of suspended manzanita branches with Synergetic’s red up-lighting  Texture was the emphasis in the tablescape design with a luxurious faux fur runner and vases wrapped with a shimmery fabric and red metallic wires.

What Storyboard Likes…

The Adult Fable– When I first heard Little Red Riding Hood, as wedding inspiration, I must admit, I was a wee bit, ‘uh oh, what potential train wreck am I about to look at here.’  What I was greeted with however, was a very mature, well thought out, & awesomely designed grown up take on Lil Red’s Wedding.  There are so many terrific elements at work here that elevate this storied fable to what I now see as the perfect source of inspiration!  From the use of red as a the main color {a given} but choosing more refined, more sophisticated items to carry the red color to the inclusion of the stone chimney to the wood like twig wall.  Even the faux fur runner to poke a bit of fun at that big bad ol’wolf! {Guess he didnt make it!}  I also really appreciate the darkness to the reception table.  I feel that Red’s wedding should indeed be dark, even a touch mysterious.   The end result is a well thought out & nicely executed source of inspiration!  Big time love it!

Red’s Bridal Style– Lil Red sure does clean up nicely doesn’t she?  The choice of the young flirty Nicole Miller dress, keeps with our overall known perception of Little Red’s dress, however, here again, bringing it up in age, delivering a mature interpretation.  Simple red pumps are the foot wear of choice, allowing all the attention to fall in the right place anyway, the gorgeous red fasicinator!   The look is simple, clean, with a nice pop of fashion forward style.  I could totally see Red rockin this on her wedding day!

Flowers & Papers– Once again Papertini hit the florals out of the park.  The choice of blooms are superb & a big reason this childhood fable feels so adult.  The tattered petals on what I now realize is something special that Papertini did, removing the center of the roses, replacing them with carnations!   Apparently I am a huge fan of this look, I had no idea that was what they were!!  What really & true ties this all together however is the masterful wedding papers by Golden Silhouette.  Here again the storied fable serves as inspiration yet is delivered in a mature refined manner & its not without its whimsy either!  Check out the entry options!  While I am not a fan of standard escort cards, I gotta say the designs here, with the pop up Red & Wolf, just might make me a convert!  Two very powerful elements that can really tie your event together & set it well ahead!
