Sweet Blaire and her beau Brendan met in college and instantly had an inseparable connection. After a duo move to Kansas City and establishing their lives post-college, the pair decided to take the ultimate plunge in love and get hitched. Being outdoor buffs, they knew a unique outdoor wedding was up their alley so after weighing all of their potential options, they selected the ultimate elopement: a wonderful, tight-knit ceremony celebrating their love in the midst of the grandeur of Mount Rainier, all captured by Rebecca Anne Photography. We gravitate towards anything moody, so we loved that their wedding ideas didn’t come to fruition (sorry, guys). They weren’t anticipating the onslaught of fog shrouding the entire mountain, but we think it made it exponentially better. Those photos!
How did you meet?
We both went to the University of Missouri for college and lived in the same apartment complex. He (a complete stranger) offered me a ride home one day and after that I never saw him or spoke to him again. We both ended up moving out of that complex but we saw each other over a year later and have been together ever since!
What is your proposal story?
We were planning on going back to Columbia to visit family and he suggested we go hiking at one of our favorite spots we went to when in school. The weather was similar to that of our wedding- cold and drizzling- but he insisted. Shortly after we arrived he asked me to marry him and of course I said yes! We then both agreed that it was too cold and wet to hike and instead we went to a winery to celebrate!
What were your favorite parts of the day?
The whole day was amazing and super relaxed. We stayed at the coziest A-frame cabin right outside the park. We woke up, sipped coffee on the porch, and got ready together. We didn’t realize how foggy it actually was until we arrived at the park, you couldn’t see anything! Of course we were initially bummed by this but it ended up being so surreal to be engulfed in and turned out perfect.
